'Installed Citrix Receiver 11.5 on Macbook Pro with OS 10.7.4. Connecting to Xenapp 6 farm with Web Interface 5.4/Secure Gateway 3.2 configured for both WI and XML Services sites. Attempts to connect to XML services site in Receiver results in 'Cannot connect to server' message. Have tried both automatic and manual configuration of Receiver. If I use any browser and open the URL to the Web Interface site (I can connect, log in and run applications. On an iPad with iOS 5, I have loaded the Citrix Receiver app and am able to connect to both the WI and XML services site.
So, I know my farm is configured and working. Only error message I can find is in system.log, which reads 'Unable to load CRPluginBridge bundle from Receiver.app' I haven't been able to find any information regarding this message or how to correct it. The install program created a Citrix Receiver.app directory and I cannot locate one that is just called Receiver.app, assuming it is a directory and not a file which I cannot locate, either.
Also cannot locate this bundle anywhere on the MAC. BTW, this is the third version of Receiver that I have tried to install in the last 8 months and I have never gotten a connection on the Mac.
Haven't received any answers on Citrix forum site, so I thought I'd post here. Any ideas would be appreciated. I did find an answer to this and had posted these on the Citrix site. Didn't get this one updated. I used Wireshark on the Web Interface/Secure Gateway server and captured the connection attempt by the Mac. What I found was the Receiver for Mac was only using port 443 for the initial handshake, but then switching to an alternate port.
When I had set up Secure Gateway and Web Interface sites, the software defaulted to another port (4343 in our case). This port was not open through our firewall. Once I changed the firewall rules, connections started working. Only the Receiver for Mac does this. All the others (including iOS for iPad, iPhone, etc.) use port 443 for all communications.
